Assembly Rooms
Located in the heart of the New Town, our imposing presence is a prominent feature within Edinburgh’s busy city centre.
The Assembly Rooms have secured its place at the centre of cultural, social and commercial life of the city through its diverse range of events.
Since opening in 1787, the Assembly Rooms have had a distinguished history with notable visitors such as Sir Walter Scott, King George IV and Charles Dickens, and in recent years Simon Callow, Clive James, Stereophonics,Jose Gonzalez, Seamus Heaney, Norman McCaig and JK Rowling. The venue has also played host to many royal visits including HRH the Prince of Wales in 1997 and Her Majesty The Queen in 1999.
The four opulent rooms are ornately decorated with intricate plasterwork and crystal chandeliers, providing the perfect setting for a variety of events from intimate gatherings to large formal receptions, exhibitions and dinner dances to wedding and civil ceremonies.
Whatever the event, the Assembly Rooms are sure to leave a lasting impression on all who attend the event.
