Everyone has a camera these days so why do you even need to hire a photographer at your event? There are several good reasons why you should but fundamentally a professional photographer will devote all their attention to getting great photographs that truly capture your event. After all, the event organising team will be concerned with making sure everything runs to schedule and the delegates are there to listen to the speakers and network with each other.

Of course it's not just about the speakers and the participants. Often it is the little details are as just as important in telling the story of the conference. Having top quality images to share helps you to set the visual agenda for the event on social media. While it's amazing what you can achieve with compact cameras, phones and tablets these days, they can struggle sometimes in difficult lighting. Just the sort of situation that you find at conferences, whether in a darkened lecture hall or at an evening social event. That's when a professional photographer can make a big difference. Images that look 'okay' on a small screen just don't have the quality to transfer into print and, thinking ahead, next year's printed conference guide will need some great pictures.

I am very experienced in photographing live events and have the ability to take great shots unobtrusively. On other occasions you may want more formal, posed photographs and I am equally comfortable setting up those sorts of images.

If at all possible it is good to meet beforehand to discuss detailed requirements and talk through some of the possibilities for taking great pictures of the event.
