McEwan Hall

The McEwan Hall was presented to the University of Edinburgh in 1897 by William McEwan as a ceremonial hall for graduations and as a gift to the people of Edinburgh.  Today this iconic Grade-A listed building is an exclusive-use venue right in the heart of the Old Town of Edinburgh.  The impressive Main Hall can accommodate 444 theatre-style, increasing to 1139 if the upper tiered floors are added.  The new expansive basement provides break out space for catering, parallels and exhibitions.

For larger conferences, the McEwan Hall works well for main plenary sessions in conjunction with other neighbouring venues which make up the Old Town Campus, creating a conference hub environment.
