Who are we?
The Edinburgh Beer Factory is a family owned microbrewery. Founded in 2015, we seek to reinvent overlooked and underestimates beer styles, like lager; re-making them in Edinburgh and challenging the stereotypes associated with them. Put simply, we make beer beautiful.
Our ethos is about celebrating the finest qualities of modern Scotland; creativity, innovation and open-mindedness. From this, we’ve named our first beer, a 5.2% Munich Helles style lager, ‘Paolozzi’, after Scots-Italian sculptor, designer, and pioneer of Pop Art, Eduardo Paolozzi.
Our brewery tours are for everyone. Art meets science meets business. We believe that beer, especially lager, is about more than just liquid – it’s an experience.
Come to discover the story of Edinburgh Beer Factory, borne out of a passion for beer and Scotland, equally. And come to discover the story of a great Scot, the ‘Godfather of Pop Art’, Eduardo Paolozzi. The tour will explore more about Paolozzi and how he came to be our muse.
Of course, there’s plenty of beer talk too. Our brewers will walk you through our lager-making process, from blank canvas to final masterpiece. You’ll even get the chance to taste the raw ingredients and the unfiltered brew, and a little sample of our latest beer in development from our pilot kit.
There’ll also be an open question policy – nothing is off limits so you’ll not need to leave any stone unturned.
