Edinburgh has a plethora of ‘unique’ venues, The Mash House is something a bit different. Located within the heart of Edinburgh’s vibrant Cowgate. Hidden away down Hastie’s Close this wee Edinburgh gem is a New York loft inspired space with walls of rustic brick, industrial scaffold fixtures, natural wood and contemporary lighting. The Mash House exudes a cool and relaxed atmosphere.
Built sometime around the start of the 18th century the venue has undergone many incarnations across the years, housing writers, artists and jewellers, it seems there has always been some form of creativity borne from this site.
After extensive refurbishment, The Mash house is now an expansive space, spanning three floors and playing host to an array of eclectic events. Available for exclusive use or as individual rooms, each space has its own character with state of the art sound systems and lighting throughout.
Regularly playing host to a diverse array of events, we can cater for everything. From live music and Salsa classes to whisky tastings, plus everything in between, it’s all covered. Essentially a giant, multi-functional events emporium.
