Edinburgh boasts a picturesque combination of historic and modern buildings across the UNESCO World Heritage site of the New Town and Old Town. It attracts more than four million visitors every year keen to explore its history, rich cultural offering and stunning views. Investment into the development of the city is blossoming, with new hotels and venues popping up around Edinburgh. Take a look at some of the newest and most hotly anticipated projects in the pipeline below.

New Developments

Inside Fingal Hotel

Having launched in January 2019, the floating hotel, aptly known as Scotland’s first ‘Boatique’ hotel, is a £5million development and a unique addition to Scotland’s hotel sector. The 1963 Northern Lighthouse Board has been transformed to include an awe-inspiring ballroom and 23 beautifully styled cabins; both of which are guaranteed to impress guests. The spectacular double height room ballroom seats 80 guests and features a large moveable skylight big enough to lower a car through!

Why not give your delegates the ultimate luxury experience? Follow in the footsteps of royalty and host an exclusive dinner for up to 196 guests or a drinks reception for up to 500 guests on The Royal Yacht Britannia, with VIP guests staying overnight in one of Fingal’s 23 luxury cabins just a short walk away.

Royal College of Physcians of Edinburgh

Located in a grand row of collonaded Georgian buildings in the New Town, the prestigious organisation also doubles up as an exhibition centre, housing some of the College’s rare historic collections.

Officially re-opened by HRH The Princess Royal at the beginning of February, after a £3.5m refurbishment, the venue has a vibrant feel to it after being turned into a fully accessible modern venue with stylish reception and exhibition rooms.

The centrepiece 300-seat auditorium is an impressive facility boasting a suite of technology, state-of-the-art audio-visual, excellent acoustics and after careful design, even the back row feels close to the action.
